Howdy partners! Long time no post, inorite? Just wanted to post a few quick updates here, since it's been quite an eventful week here in Raven.

First and foremost, super turbo major congrats to us on getting the last two remaining heroic raiding achievements in the game (till 3.1 anyway!). I'm pleased to announce that on March 31, 2009, Order of the Raven was the first guild on the server to not only get The Immortal achievement, but also 22 Black Proto-Drakes for the Heroic: Glory of the Raider achievement.

In other words... we're finally done raiding Naxx 25. And Malygos 25. And Sartharion 3D 25. Freakin' A!

Also, big grats to the Order of the Raven 10-man groups that have recently achieved Sartharian 3 Drake kills over the last few weeks! Great work!

In recruiting news, we're pretty much done actively recruiting for Ulduar, with one exception: Holy Paladins! We need a single, smart, high-playtime holy paladin with a great attitude and extensive raiding experience under their belt. If you think you fit that bill, head on over to our recruitment page and fill out our application.

We have a winner!

Greetings and salutations fellow Aggramar citizens! On this boring Monday afternoon I'm pleased to bring you good news that many of you already know - we have picked a contest winner for the Twilight Drake (and title!). That winner is Bigdeadman, a rogue from the guild <Absolute Shenanigans>.

Bigdeadman was chosen at random, based on numbers assigned to contest entrants, based on a /random of 302 numbers - the exact number of people who entered the contest. Cyndane conducted the roll on Friday even in a raid that consisted of both <Order of the Raven> members and members of the Aggramar community in Ironforge. Here's an image of that fateful roll:

We'll be running Sartharion on Tuesday, 02/17/2009 to get Bigdeadman his Drake and his title. Big grats to him and thanks to everyone who entered the contest. Keep your eyes here in the future, as we might run more contests.

Contest Time

Order of the Raven has been on Aggramar since the day it opened it's doors. The faces in the guild have changed over the years but one thing has always remained the same, Aggramar has been pretty good to us as a guild. From the quiet congratulations on our raiding accomplishments to rallying behind us during the AQ40 War Effort, which undoubtedly could not have been done in a timely fashion without the everyone on the servers help both Alliance and Horde, through the Burning Crusade and now into Northrend, we've always felt as if the servers been behind us. So as a 'Thank You' to Aggramar, we here in Order of the Raven have decided to give a little something back:

We have devised ourselves a little contest and the winner will receive The Reins of the Twilight Drake

Also as an added bonus you will also receive the Twilight Vanquisher title, which is a nice follow up prize if you're into that sorta thing.

Contest Timeline

• On Friday, February 13th at 4pm server time (CST), sign ups for the contest will close. The names of all entrants will be compiled, numbered, and listed on the front page of our website for all to see.
  
  
• On Sunday, February 15th at 6pm server time (CST) I will do one really big random. The number that is rolled via the random will determine the winner from the names and numbers posted on our websites front page.

The winner will attend our Obsidian Sanctum raid during the following week (Feb 17th through Feb 23). The exact date of the raid will be set to accommodate the winner's availability. We go in, kill Sartharion and his cronies and award the drake to the lucky contest winner.

If this entire process goes off without significant difficulty, expect another Drake to be awarded next month and one possibly the month after that (At least until Ulduar comes out).

One entry per person please, and naturally, must be level 80 to participate.

Twilight Vanquishers and New Years Updates!

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had as great a holiday season as we in <Order of the Raven> did. Lots of things to talk about and so little attenti-- Ooooh SHINEY OBJECTS!

And hey, did you catch my special holiday video for all of Aggramar? No? Really? You didn't? Well here it is, in all of it's lovely Youtube glory!

Er, ahem, I'm pleased to announce that on Sunday, January 4, 2009 <Order of the Raven> successfully completed the achievement Heroic: The Twilight Zone, giving all 25 of the raiders that night a new title, "Twilight Vanquisher", and our Space Goat guild leader, Cyndane, a brand new (server first) Reins of the Twilight Drake.

In case you're curious, here's our WWS report for that particular kill.

Big grats all around to everyone who made this possible. Also worth noting is that <Order of the Raven> is also just a few achievements away from being the first on the server to complete the Heroic: Glory of the Raider achievement. Keep your eyes here for more on that when we get it.

And hey, it's not all about raiding here in Raven country. Nope. Mm-mmm. Sometimes, instead of raiding, we attempt to vanquish laser turkeys, as demonstrated below:

Recruitment Update

As the new year begins and OTR has all of the raiding content on farm, we're still looking for a few good men and women to fill out our ranks. As of today, we're still looking for one high dps Warlock, one holy Priest, and one high dps Hunter. If you're an experienced raider with high playtime, a good attitude, and a healthy love of Space Goats, you should apply now!

Wrath of the Lich King Launches & Recruitment Update!

Hello everyone, great to see you here again at the Order of the Raven website. It's been a great month and a half since our last post (in which we killed Mu'ru AND Kil'jaeden). Wrath of the Lich King has launched, most of us are level 80 (except for me, of course - I'm a slacker), and we've already cleared all of the normal and heroic raiding content. Also worth mentioning is the fact that both Thance (now Cruor) and Aeith were the first of their classes (Death Knight and Mage respectively) to reach level 80 on Aggramar. Big grats to them!

Here's the first of what are sure to be many kill shots in the latest expansion, our server first kill of (heroic) Malygos! Enjoy:

Now that we're comfortable and raiding full-time again, we're opening up recruitment a bit. We're currently looking for one Holy Paladin, one Holy Priest, and one Warlock. If you're one of those, have high playtime, are already level 80 and think you're up for the challenge of raiding in Aggramar's all-time top PvE progression guild, head on over to our recruitment page and fill out our application. One of our officers or recruiters will get back to you within a day or two.

Hey there, hi there, ho there! Long time no see, right? Yeah, sorry, we've been busy farming and killing and killing and farming the Sunwell and BT. We're currently working on getting M'uru down as well as preparing for the upcoming expansion, Wrath of the Lich King.

Speaking of preparation for the expansion, <Order of the Raven> is beginning it's recruitment drive for WoW 3.0. While we've had a number of positions open off and on for the last few months, we're really kicking recruitment into high gear.

Here's what we're looking for in our expansion recruits:

• While your current gear isn't a big deal, having T6+ armor is a major bonus when applying, as it shows you (probably) have good experience.
• Applicants who show a good personality is a plus. If your app looks like you're typing it for a drill instructor, chances are we're going to pass it over. We're looking for people who can integrate with us wacky people - not Captain Serious.
• Your true recruitment period will begin at level 80. Applicants will level with <Order of the Raven> but your actual trial period begins when we start raiding in Lich King - which should be fairly quickly.
• You must be extremely open-minded and open to constructive criticism. If you can't handle being told you're not doing something right, look elsewhere - we don't sugar coat things.

So, are you a raider who has the drive, the experience, and the marbles in their pants to play at the very top end of PvE progression? Do you enjoy being taking orders from men who play female gnomes and Draenei? Do you think you have what it takes to be one of 25 people in a raid who can hand Arthas his ass? Apply now!
